In Memory of a Lost Mooner

Posted on February 8, 2022February 11, 2022 by Churchill

Oh Brother, where have you gone?

Your blue eyes sparkle so bright

In my memory, but mine see no light.

Have you left this world, or just withdrawn?

.

The Mooners grieve, do you hear our wails?

Our cries met with a slient, dark shore.

Spirits and smoke comfort us no more.

We try standing strong, but oh, how we fail.

.

We fear her gentle hand has taken you.

Her merciless current you cannot fight.

Brother! Struggle out of this dark night!

Return to us, let your soul rise anew.

A haunting poem worthy of song, mournfully iterating the grievous loss of such a beloved Mooner.
